Marbre Noir" is some of my best work and highest grade. It's about exploring damascus pattern (folded layers of two or more different metals, steel and iron) revealed by deep etch and damascus kurouchi, a contrast between layers polished and layers covered with iron oxide (kurouchi). The blades can then show two sides of a same damascus pattern, one revealed with damascus kurouchi and one reavealed by stone polishing where softer material appears darker and hard material appear lighter because how react stones to those materials.
